If your baby has just passed away, words can not express how sorry we are for your loss xx If you wish to take fingerprints or hand/footprints and still have the opportunity to do so, you can order a a special inkless wipe kit or a fingerprint impression kit (see below for more details), so that the prints can be taken as soon as possible. If you do not feel able to do them yourself, perhaps you could ask your undertaker who will most likely be pleased to be able to help in some way.
Description
The kits are £8 which includes 1st class postage of your kit to you, £5 special delivery postage of your jewellery when you are ready to order and the kit with full instructions of how to use. There is no rush at all to return the impressions or prints and you can do so and order the pieces you would like whenever you feel ready x
You may already have footprints and handprints taken with an inkless wipe by your hospital. If this is the case, you do not need to order this kit. You can take a scan of these prints and e-mail them to us when you order and Allison can put these prints onto your chosen piece of jewellery.
If you do not have these prints, you can order a kit here. Allison recommends the inkless wipe kits to get the best print from your baby's hands and feet. If you lost your baby at full term, you may even be able to take a fingerprint impression too (although we wouldn't expect to see any lines). Allison suggests taking as much of the finger as possible, certainly the first 2 joints, so that you can see the joint creases as well. For premature babies, or for earlier losses, the fingers will be too small for an imprint, however your babies feet may be small enough to do an impression in the moulding putty which Allison can then transfer onto a piece of jewellery.
